What a wonderful hotel - the Ki Niseko, located right next to the Hirafu Gondola - the perfect spot. We have a one-bed apartment with every amenity, views of the gondola base area and a calming vista of snowy banks and trees. The staff are friendly, a number hailing from the UK and USA. The regular shuttle service to town and back is quick and easy although the walk is short (under 10 mins).
Brett tried the onsen (hot pool/bath) last night to relieve his weary limbs and aching back haha. I had a wine in bed and blogged. Will give onsen a go this evening. They are separate male and female (it's a no-togs zone) and they also also have a small private one you can book once during your stay so we'll sort that for later in the week. Apparently the onsen here is one of the best in town.
A unique and excellent offering here is the hotel's link to Rhythm Sports, ski shop and hire in the town. Rhythm have a special ski valet service for guests on site in the hotel. They store your skis and boots and you just rock up and they are ready for you. Ski back at end of day straight to the valet room and they take care of gear from there. They can tweak, adjust, swap - whatever you need. It's brilliant and such a luxury to put on boots in a warm room rather than a car park!! A minute later you are on the Gondola. A personalised service which is an absolute treat.
There are many accommodation options in Niseko and I do declare we are in one of the very best.
And with that I shall go and check out the warmed loo seat, and get ready for another great ski day...
My knee knows it has been skiing but am sure it will hold up fine for some more fabulous runs today.
Alas There is no new snow but it is coming tomorrow we hear ...
OBSERVATION OF THE MORNING: coffee and croissants in our lovely room with white stuff out the window and skiing on the agenda is a most magnificent way to start the day in this wonderful slice of ski heaven!
